Zara Jeans Pricing

My wife, Nancy, and I were in Wales, UK in November 2025. We shopped in a Zara, an international chain.  For expediency they have both US and UK prices on all the items. For the jeans above, the UK price is 35, and the US price is 69.

The exchange rate is about 1.4 USD to 1 UK Pound.  With a bit of math, 35×1.4=$49. So why is the item US $69 and not $49?

Answer: the tariffs that buyers don’t pay, that a) China, b) the Manufacturer, or c) ? .
